Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Entebbe.

Welcome to Uganda! You are met on arrival at the Entebbe airport, and then transferred to the guesthouse for an evening at leisure.

Overnight: The Boma Guesthouse

Day 2- Entebbe - Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, together with your private Uganda Safari Holiday Tour guide, set off on your adventure exploring the beautiful Pearl of Africa, driving southwards to Lake Mburo national park. Lake Mburo which is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks is an underrated compact gem of the Uganda. The park is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and reedbuck. You will enter the park gates and check in at the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon head out for an extensive game drive where you will spot Burchell’s Zebras, Elands, Buffalo, Elephants, Impalas Giraffes and if you are lucky a Leopard too. Return to the lodge to prepare for dinner.

Day 3 - Lake Mburo National Park

We have a full day at our disposal to explore Lake Mburo National Park. Start with an early morning game drive to once more game view with hope of encountering leopard and hyenas as they search for their prey.

Optional Uganda Safari Holiday Tour Activities this morning could also be horse backing riding or a nature walk in company with the park rangers or quad biking.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. Afternoon go for 2-hour boat ride on Lake Mburo watching game like hippopotamus as well as birds like pelicans, heron, cormorant, fish eagle. After the boat cruise you will return to relax by the pool and enjoy the magnificent views of the park.

Day 4 - Lake Mburo National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart Lake Mburo early his morning driving towards to continue on the Uganda Safari Holiday Tour trail to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a landscape of volcanoes, jagged valleys, waterfalls, lakes and dramatic mountain ranges. Late afternoon, arrive at the permanent our accommodation for the next two nights, set on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which is Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants, hosts 113 species of mammals including a herd of the rare forest elephant, 200 species of butterfly, and over 360 species of birds. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 320 mountain gorillas - roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.

On arrival you will check into the lodge and later in the afternoon take a stroll around the town to visit the craft shop and meet the locals.

Day 5 - Gorilla Tracking - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early morning breakfast, you head to the Park headquarters for a briefing and then we'll be guided by a guide and a game ranger to the forest for Gorilla trekking. Be prepared to walk through difficult terrain that includes steep and often muddy gullies, dense undergrowth, and over fallen obstacles such as trees. Once the gorillas are located, our group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Day 6 - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park- Ishasha Sector

After breakfast depart Bwindi to catch the next Uganda safari holiday tour trail southwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive to Ishasha the southern sector of the Queen Elizabeth national park famous for the climbing lions and high concentration of Elephants, buffalos and many antelopes not for forgetting the Edward flats. The remote Ishasha sector protects a wilderness of swamps and thorn savanna, and is home to large herds of Cape buffalo and topi as well as tree-climbing lions. These tree-dwelling lions prey on the wildlife that grazes Ishasha’s beautiful acacia studded savanna. Have lunch at the lodge and later conduct a game drive and waste the rest of the evening at the lodge as you watch animals at the river bank.

Day 7 - Ishasha Sector - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning game drives on your way out of Ishasha making your way northwards to the Kasenyi plains area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Game drives along the way arriving at Kyambura Gorge Lodge in time for a relaxing lunch. Relax for a few hours and later head for the beautiful boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, home to one of the largest concentrations of hippopotamus, as well as herds of elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife that come to drink from the river. The Kazinga also attracts a tremendous variety of bird species including the African Eagle, Open-Billed Stork, and Pied Kingfishers.

Day 8 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - Kibale Forest

Conduct a morning game drive in the Kasenyi area to look for lion prides and other wildlife like the Uganda Kob. The Kasenyi plains are one of the best game viewing areas with some large herds of Ugandan kob which form the main prey base for the resident lion population. You will also visit the Katwe region (where the famous movie Queen of Katwe originates from).This region dotted with lots of craters and also get to witness salt mining. After this you will drive northwards making your way to the town of Fort Portal and the gallery forest of Kibale. Along the way on clear days you have a chance of spotting the dramatic Rwenzori Mountains also known as the Mountains of the Moon.

Kibale Forest Park is home to an extraordinary 13 species of primates, including chimpanzees, red colobus, and L’Hoest monkeys. Kibale National Forest has also recorded over 355 bird species, and a range of other mammals including the elusive forest elephant.

Arrive to check at the lodge and relax or head out for a drive to explore the crater lakes.

Day 9 - Kibale Forest National Park

Early morning head to the visitors’ reception for a briefing before your chimpanzee tracking activity in the network of forest trails. During this guided forest walk you are likely to find families of Chimpanzees and Red Colobus Monkeys chattering and swinging through the ancient forest trees. Seeing habituated chimps squabbling and swinging from the trees is an exhilarating experience. Later in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary which is rich in bird species, vegetation, and wildlife. This is also a great opportunity to support local tourism initiatives which benefit social and economic development in the area.

Day 10 - Kibale Forest - Entebbe

After breakfast you will transfer back to Entebbe, the journey lasts for some 4-5 hours .Arrive to find a day room available for you at a guesthouse to shower and refresh. After dinner you will be transferred to Entebbe International airport for your flight back home depending on your flight departure time.
