Tarangire National Park has one of the highest population densities of elephants anywhere in Tanzania. Located just a few hours’ drive from the town of Arusha, Tarangire is a popular stop for Tanzania safari goers travelling through the northern circuit on their way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. Tarangire offers unparalleled game viewing and during the dry season, elephants abound. Migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the lagoons. In fact, it has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside of the Serengeti ecosystem.
