It sounds absolutely wonderful when your husband, fiancé, or Boyfriend tells you to pack for a safari to Africa, right? But I bet to you all that it sounds Amazingly beautiful when you wake and tell yourself now am packing to go for a solo woman safari or women only safari because women traveling is happening across generations around the world and we at Gorilla and Chimp Luxury Safaris encourage women to travel around the world and especially to Uganda or Rwanda in order for them not to miss out on the most amazing unforgettable experience of your entire life which is Gorilla trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Virunga National Park in Rwanda. Why encourage gorilla trekking for women because many women I have encountered with when going for gorilla trekking are very much excited but always ask questions and the first question is How difficult is the trekking?
How difficult is mountain Gorilla trekking?
Gorilla trekking can be difficulty or easy depending on the location of the gorilla family you will be trekking as some families are easy to find while others are hard to trek because they live on higher elevations. Weather can make the trekking difficult or easy as in weather is very unpredictable. The trekking because hard when it rains during gorilla trekking cause it tends to be slippery and muddy, you have to pass through tough terrain and thick jungles by hiking at altitude of about 2500 to 3000 meters above sea level. Besides Also your age matters as it may determine how difficulty the trek can be. People under the age of 15 years are not allowed to go trekking, you might be 95 years and assuming that you can pressure up with [persons of 20, 30, 40 years, certainly the hiking pace will never be the same and this may require them to keep waiting for you so this makes the trekking difficulty and tiresome for some people.
What can be some of the solutions?
To make your gorilla trekking easier, enjoyable and worth your time and money you need to trek the easiest and best family that’s if you don’t want to hike for longer time which again is not a guarantee but with some chances that the group did not move because some gorilla families are easier to access in a way that if the group doesn’t move you can access it within 15mins and some can be accessed in 30mins but if they move you can even take half a day hiking to get to them. By moving I mean these gorillas change locations looking for food or fear when they have fight with another group so have to travel long distances. Uganda Wildlife Authority has made it easy to access the easiest gorilla family according to the new system development which is based on the tourists interests, age and physical abilities of individuals. Remember gorilla permits are sold at first come, first serve so it’s better to book gorilla permits as early as 6 months in advance. For 80 and above years ladies to keep up the pace with your fellow trekkers you need to join a group where most are your age mates or get porters to carry you throughout the trekking or to carry you when you get tired using the gorilla sedan chairs.
